YOUNG local woodchoppers, Jackson Standen and Cheyanne Girvan have returned to Bombala this week after competing at the Melbourne Show as part of the NSW Under 21s team.
Jackson earned himself a third in the Under 21 State of Origin
race, third in the Under18 Championship heat and fourth in the Under 21 Championship heat.
Jackson cut very well throughout his time in Melbourne and almost made a final.
Cheyanne also cut extremely well, taking a third in the Jill and Jill Double Handed Sawing Championship, third in the Under 21 State of Origin Race, fourth in the Jill and Jill Double Handed Sawing Handicap and fifth in the Ladies Underhand Handicap.
She also competed in Adelaide previous to the Melbourne trip, cutting well in the ladies events, which featured the Australian, New Zealand and USA women’s teams.
