Cafe owners Julie and Ross Pearson were kept busy catering for the crew who stayed at the Dalgety Holiday caravan park and at West Boloco.
"We might try and do a preview of the film, and organise something in Dalgety so locals can have a look. We are thinking about making it a red carpet event," Mrs Pearson said.
Director James Woods, from Sydney is no stranger to the area. He spent a lot of time as a teenager in Dalgety staying with friends at the house opposite the pub when going on family skiing holidays.
"I like the place and also love the romance of the fact that it was slated to be the capital and it didn't, and now it is a sleepy hamlet. Just imagine if it was the capital, with the Snowy River, it's beautiful." Mr Woods said.
It is the first film for Sydney director James Woods who also wrote the script and co-produced it. He has worked extensively in TV as a producer and script writer.
Mr Woods said the idea for the film came from a pair of giant novelty hot pink sunglasses.
"And I thought, I need to make them the central prop in some sort of film," Mr Woods said.
"So basically I worked backwards from giant stupid sunglasses. And so that was a funny idea on its own then I wanted to add elements of a brother and sister travelling to visit their mother."
Mr Woods said once he had written the script which had an abandoned service station, he thought of the Dalgety service station and wondered if it was still there.
Local Nicole O'Connor of Coohoonbulla (Coonie), Dalgety provided the set design.
"I've never been on a movie set before. I've done lots of different things on set. It's been an interesting learning curve,” Mrs O’Connor said.
"I've got a background in interior design, and have a big collection of antiques and props and that's what they wanted," she said.
