On Saturday, Bombala Rugby League teams travelled to Bemboka for a day of tough footy in drizzly weather conditions.

The Bombala High Heelers had the tough task of playing back to back games against the Merimbula Hot Doggies and then the Bemboka Pink Panthers. With good numbers, the High Heelers put together hard working, skilled, high energy arrangements on the field which proved too good for each of the opponents, with both scores ending up at 36-0.
Tries were scored by Patrice Clear, Abbey Ingram, Abbey Kimber, Kayley Keavey, Keiarna Rodwell, Kristy Nicholls, Katie Piesley, Annie McGrath, Chloe Murphy with the try scoring machine Tash Stewart out-pacing the opposition on four occasions.
Players Player and 3 points for the first game against Merimbula went to captain Patrice Clear, 2 points went to Kayley Keavey and 1 point was shared between Georgie Clarke and Chloe Murphy.
In the second game against Bemboka, Players Player and 3 points went to Keiarna Rodwell, 2 points to Tash Stewart and 1 point went to Monique Ingram.
Reserve Grade had the injection of a few experienced additions to the team this week and these players definitely gave the Blues Heelers an edge on the Candelo/Bemboka United Panthers Reserve Grade side.
The opposition scored first before Mitch Lynch scored for Bombala. Bailey Jones scored and converted - the score to 10-6. John Peck was next and the Blue Heelers led 16-6.
It was a tough game for the reserves with the game called off due to injury. The final score was 22-12 to the Blue Heelers. Players Player went to Paul Gimbert, 3 points to Mitch Lynch, 2 points to Alex Rosten and 1 point to John Peck.
First Grade kicked off with the lights brightening up the field. The final score was Bulldogs 22 to Bombala 10.
Players player was Jackson Standen, 3 points went to Andrew Guthrie, 2 points to Gary Giles and 1 point to Tyler Jones.
With a week off this coming week of Anzac Day, players will rest and recover to be at full strength for the next Round 4 game against Bega in Bega on May 1.
