The 2016 Bombala Golf Tournament was held over the weekend with the ladies playing Saturday and the men on Sunday. The weather was perfect for visiting golfers who always think Bombala is cold.

The Ladies Open was won by Sylvia Donohoe of Narooma with a 78. Sylvia was having a fantastic round until the dreaded 17th hole. A game is never won until after the 17th is played. Sylvia hit a good shot, or so they thought but couldn’t find the ball and finally walking off with a 6. Congratulations Sylvia who was the defending champion.
The Men’s Open had an exciting finish with James Tatham and Wayne Elton having a play off for the Open Champion both coming in on 77. Hitting off on the 10th for the first play-off hole both players went out of bounds and both walked off the 10th green with 7.

Men’s 4 BBB on Saturday afternoon was won by Brendan Weston and Brad Yelds with the good score of 50 pts. The story is they combined well but didn’t play great golf.
Wednesday the ladies played a 3 Stick Event for L Withers Trophy. The winner was Betty Crawford 77 nett. Ball was won by Joy Douch 82 nett.

Social Bowls: Wednesday, May 18 - C Baker played swinger with A Dent, R Dentand Pat Kane def B Beileiter, Phil Kane and J Adamson 25-18. Good to see Pat back on the green after a long absence.
Saturday K Callaway and M Guthrie def Chris X and N Brotherton 26-11. Next week there is a carnival at Eden. Jack
Junior Rugby League
This week Bombala hosted Moruya, with Moruya unable to make teams for the U7s or U9s or U12 years.
The U8s played a competitive game and Milo Match winner was Ruby Smith.
The girls League Tag had a great start going into halftime with a 80 lead winning with a 144 point lead.
The U14s lost their game with 3 points to Jasper Bruce, 2 points to Lane Stevenson and 1 point to Reagan Hurley. With very little ball handling and constant defence left Bombala scoreless.
