All consumers serviced by the Nimmitabel Water Supply Scheme are advised that the requirement to maintain level 3 water restrictions have now ceased subject to further notice. Nimmitabel residents are advised that Nimmitabel’s Water Supply Scheme is subject to surface water flow availability from the Maclaughlin River.
To ensure a continued water supply to meet essential needs and maintain sufficient reserves for firefighting purposes, Snowy Monaro Regional Council, in accordance with the Local Government (Water Services) Regulation 1999, Cl 5, advises consumers to conserve water while under Level 0 restrictions effective from August 15, 2016.
Level 0 restrictions apply to all properties connected to and consumers drawing water from the Nimmitabel Water Supply Scheme and will apply until further notice.
Snowy Monaro grant success
More than 840 applications were received for the NSW Government’s Public Reserve Management Fund that provides financial support for the development, maintenance and improvement of public reserves. A total request value of over 335 per cent of the available funds were made.
Snowy Monaro Regional Council secured a total of $121, 709 in grants to support two capital works projects and a variety of separate noxious weed control activities. The weed related projects gained $81,335 in total.
Successful capital works projects are $10,374 for arena fence works at the Bredbo Showground Reserve and $30,00 towards an energy efficient camp kitchen at the Dalgety Caravan Park Crown Reserve.
Council has also secured funding from the Stronger Communities Program of $10,000 towards an inclusive playground in Bombala and $20,000 towards the Wollondibby Creek bridge construction.
“Council is delighted with this outcome and we’re appreciative to be able to further contribute to vegetation management endeavours, along with delivering crucial social and economic infrastructure elements that benefit the wider community,” council administrator, Dean Lynch said.
