“It was a fantastic celebration for the efforts of the football club and all three grades throughout the year and a great night to acknowledge some of Bombala’s outstanding players,” a spokesperson said.
Guest speaker on the night was Michael Weyman who gave the crowd some great insights into his illustrious career playing for the Raiders, St. George, NSW State of Origin and for Australia with the Kangaroos squad.
Colin Ryan, president of the Blue Heelers and recipient of the Club Person of the Year Award said, “This year the season was great with all three grades performing really well and hopefully will be back bigger and better next year.”
In first grade, the Coaches award was presented to Murray Jackson with Paul Perkins taking out the Blue Heeler and Best and Fairest awards. Highest point scorer was Fijian import Tuwame Belolvu who was also presented with the Best Back award.
Highest Try Scorer and Rookie of the Year was awarded to Tyler Jones, Players Player went to Malcolm Stone with Murray Jackson winning the Coaches award and Bailey Jones the Most Improved Award.
Blue Heelers Reserve Grade were grand finalists this year with Players Player awarded to Matthew Stone and Joel Cherry winning the Coaches award.
High Point Scorer of the Year was Alex Rosten who also was awarded High Try Scorers along with Clay Stewart and Ben Mooney with Rosten also sharing the Best and Fairest award with Ben Mooney. Nat Jennings took out the Most Improved with Best Back awarded to Mick Sullivan and Best Forward to Paul Gimbert.
Captain/coach of the High Heelers, Patrice Clear was awarded Players Player, Best and Fairest and Highest Try Scorer with Keiarna Rodwell getting the Coaches Award and Janine Jamieson the High Heeler award. Highest Point Scorer was Annie McGrath.
