Snowy Monaro Regional Council’s Youth Services, in partnership with the YMCA, are set to deliver another action packed school holiday program for young people in the region aged between 12 and 17 years.

“Our School Holiday Programs run from Monday, September 26 until Friday, October 7, with an array of activities on offer throughout the Snowy Monaro Region,” general manager Joseph Vescio said.
Monaro Regional Libraries in Bombala and Cooma will be featuring free kids movies, along with their usual programs including Storytime and Wiggling Whippersnappers. Bookings for movie sessions are essential, due to limited seating, so phone Bombala 6458 3196 or Cooma 6455 1730.
“Our Library staff are taking us back to the 80’s this school holidays with some classic movies, including the Goonies. The Libraries’ licences for showing films are limited, so please phone ahead to reserves your seat,” Mr Vescio said.
The Platypus Country Visitors Information Centre is excited to promote Paper Craft sessions at the Tree of Life retail store, Maybe Street Bombala, throughout the two weeks of the holidays, at a cost of $10. To book please call 0417 387 052.
“Young people living in the former Bombala or Snowy River areas can take advantage of the Youth Day Out bus service that is offering six fully supervised, free, outings during the school holidays. The bus will pick up and drop off at skateboard parks, local swimming pools, parks and local shopping areas. You don’t want to miss any of the action, so book early to avoid disappointment”, Mr Vescio said.

Activities on offer in Cooma include a barbecue at the Cooma Skate Park, street art workshops, pop-up cinemas at the Youth Hub, along with evening darts and pool competitions. All events are free, fully supervised and lunch is provided.
Back by popular demand to wrap up the holidays, the Cooma Youth Hub will be hosting Friday Night Live on October 7. This live music gig showcases a host of our talented local young musicians. This is an all ages event, however is strictly drug and alcohol free!
