Bombala Golf Club hosted two championship games of golf on Sunday after the ACT Sand Green Golf Championships which were originally going to be held in Delegate were cancelled because the Delegate course was too wet.

The Sand Green Championships are normally played as a stroke event, but this year was played as a stableford because the Bombala course was also very wet.
ACT Sand Green Champion on the day was Steve Tatham with 32 points followed closely in second place by Cory Nichol with 31 points. Third place went to Pepper Thompson with 31 points and fourth place to Leon Jones on 30 points.
ACT Sand Green B grade champion was won by Chris Halligan on 37 points with second place going to Ray Fermor on 36 points. Third in B grade was Jim Haylock on 36 points with fourth place going to Tracker on 34 points on a count back from Paul Halligan on 34 points.
Also on Sunday the Heavy Haulage golf competition played between Tathra, Bombala and Nimmitabel was played at Bombala on Saturday.
Sunday’s results were Bombala 34.2, Nimmitabel 33.4 and Tathra 29.6 with the overall scores – Tathra 68.1, Bombala 67.8 and Nimmitabel 67.2 making Tathra the outright winners, taking home the shield.
Golf winner on the day was Chris Halligan with 37 points. Balls went to C Halligan 37 points, F Fermor 36 points, J Haylock 36 points, V Walker 35 points, L Brens 35 points, Tracka 34 points, P Halligan 34 points, S Tatham 32 points, R Brown 32 points, B Reed 31 points, P Thompson 31 points, L Jones 30 points and G Toms 30 points.

Earlier in the week the ladies golf was cancelled on Wednesday after they were washed out.
Members were more fortunate with the weather on Saturday and played a 4BBB Stableford for the Late J Haslingden and P Halligan Trophy. The winners were Leon Jones and Cary Elton with 42 points from Ray Fermor and Ray Crawford on 40 points.
Ladies have the Club Medal and Putting today for the Deb Ingram Trophy are playing a Stableford on Saturday and on Sunday and Monday an ETBA for the Club Trophy.
Members can choose partners to play a Mixed Grill 4 BBB 6 Holes Ambrose, 6 Holes Foursomes for the Korie Elton and Brad Tonks Trophy. Sunday is a par for the R Fermor Trophy and Monday a Stableford for the Club Trophy. Ray Crawford is on the duty roster for Saturday.
