Last weeks photo of the 1967 Bombala First Grade Rugby League Football premier team for Group 19 certainly had people talking on Facebook. The premiership team defeated the Cooma Rovers 14 points to eight.
The names of the men in the photo are: back - Tony Elliott (coach), Athol (Slip) Reid, Phil Carey, Bob Mathews, Daryl Smith, Barry Tanzer, Bob Usher, Michael Dean, Claude Thornell and Bruce Stewart of the Globe Hotel. Front - Johnny Dean, Arthur Floyd, Gary Jones, Rod Wallis, Paul Clear, Athol Dent and Peter (Punchy) Sullivan.
The 1967 Cooma Rovers team was, M Turner, T Fraser, K Rees, J Mulholland, F Rixon, D Vggers, C Goodwin, C Holden, D Mackay, H Bruyns, C Kirkby, G Mackay and D McGufficke.
