We have nothing to report for Saturday with players frightened off by the weather. Although it did improve during the afternoon.
Sunday was a Par for Pat and Janet Lomas Trophy. There was a good roll up although some became nervous when it started to rain just prior to hit off but everyone decided to brave it and what a great afternoon was had by all. Brendan Weston continued with the good golf winning with a + 5. Balls were won by Westy, Ray Crawford +3, Wayne Elton + 3 and Simon Stephen + 3. NTP: was not won.

Bowls
On Sunday, February 26, in the pennants Bombala hosted Merimbula going down 47 shots to 79 winning 1 rink to 2 earning 1 point to 9. The Monaro Shield side travelled to Adaminaby fairing much better winning 88 shots to 40, 3 rinks to nil earning 6 points to nil. Well done team. Wet weather washed out Major singles games on Saturday. Next week results from Pennants at Tura Beach and Monaro Shield hosting Nimmitabel.
Next Saturday, March 11, Bombala hosts the Craig (Reggie) Elton, Men of League past players fundraiser day. Local rugby league teams, fans and players past and present are being invited to join the Men of League Foundation for a fun day of bowls and friendship at the Bombala RSL Club.
Organised by the Men of League Foundation Southern Monaro Committee, the day is a chance for everyone to get together and play a few ends on the greens while helping to raise important funds for the Men of League Foundation and its work with men, women and children of the rugby league community.
Men of League Foundation’s New South Wales State Manager, Stuart Raper, says that the day is sure to be a success for the Committee and encourages everyone in the Southern Monaro region who shares their love of rugby league to come along and participate.
“There will be an auction and raffles all day. Entry is just $25 per person and includes bowls and a barbecue lunch,” Stuart said.
