Golf

The Bombala golfing ladies played the Foursomes Championships over 27 Holes on Monday. After 18 holes the scores were close. The Champions for 2017 are Jean McLean and Georgina Withers 161 from Betty Crawford and Dawn Douch 165. Handicap Champions are Joy Douch and Gay Kennedy 122 nett from Betty Crawford and Dawn Douch 127.5 nett. The balls were won by Betty and Dawn 127.5 and Di Ingram and Heather Brown 137 ¾. On Thursday three of our chaps travelled to Gosford for the Craig Elton Memorial Day played on Friday. Cary Elton, Brendan Weston and Joel Cherry were joined by Michael Elton who travelled down from Qld. Cary and Michael were brothers of Craig. Playing a 4 ball Ambrose the Bombala boys were the winners with 8 under par. Saturday the Pennant team travelled to Coolamatong.  Bombala were defeated by Delegate 4/1. Nimmitabel/Bombala defeated Coolamatong 3/2. Saturday is the final round of the pennants at Bombala. Sunday members played their Foursomes Championships over 27 Holes. The Scratch Champions for 2017 are Herbie Elliott and Phillip McIntosh 124 from Merv Douch and Pepper Thompson 132. The Handicap Champions are Merv Douch and Pepper Thompson 109.5 nett from Brad Yelds and Tony Brady and Wayne Elton and Colin Gronow both teams on 114 nett.
