In doing so, Le Lievre became the first driver to go under the 40 second ‘barrier’ at Mt Gladstone, throwing down the gauntlet to the much larger and more powerful AWD cars that have dominated the fastest time of the day competitions at Mount Gladstone since 2014.
Spokesperson for the Cooma Car Club, Ian Hampton said, “Le Lievre’s Clubman is beautifully built and presented, and he and his car present as a professional outfit, ready to take on all comers.
“The day was also notable for seven junior drivers taking to the track including three returning from the Car Club’s Junior Driver Development Program Come and Try Hill Climb last November.”
Fastest Junior driver was once again Nick Coote with a best time of 46.3s in his Subaru Impreza WRX, ahead of Jackson Frew who recorded a best time of 47.3s in the Datsun Wagon he shared with his father Peter.
