Ms Amos was announced as winner at a ceremony at NSW Parliament in Sydney on Wednesday.
The awards recognise the achievements of young people at different stages of involvement with emergency volunteering.
“With fires, floods and storms hitting NSW this year, we have been constantly reminded of the amazing work of all emergency service volunteers” Mrs Taylor said.
“Yvette’s huge contribution to the NSW SES makes her a very worthy winner of this award, and I really congratulate her”.
The NSW SES Young Volunteer of the Year Award recognises the contribution of a young volunteer between the ages of 16 and 25 who has demonstrated significant commitment and diligent service to the NSW SES.
Ms Amos has been a member of the Snowy River SES Unit since joining in 2007, aged 16. In that time, she has attained numerous SES qualifications and skills and in 2012 became one of the youngest volunteers in the NSW SES to hold a Unit Controller’s position.
“Yvette is a dedicated leader within the SES and it is fantastic she has been recognised in this way” Mr Barilaro said.
“Having made such an enormous contribution already at the age of 25, I have no doubt we will see much more from Yvette in the years to come”.
