Early Start Discovery Space, UOW Keiraville
Closed Mondays and public holidays with both free and paid programs during until April 23.
Some of the free workshops include story time, Easter egg hunts, Easter Hat Parade, robot construction, coding, craft and “eggquisite” decorations.
Annual Easter Show, Towradgi Beach Hotel, Easter Saturday
If the prices are too high to take the kids to Sydney Olympic Park, stop by TBH’s free event from 10am to 5pm on Saturday.
Obviously you’ll need to spend money on showbags, rides and market stalls but it’ll be cheaper than the big city event.
Family Fun at Wollongong Botanic Garden, Easter Saturday
From 10am to 2pm there will be a number of free Easter Egg Hunts for kids plus a series of traditional family games including the sack races, egg and spoon races, three-legged races and wheelbarrow races with chocolate prizes to be won.
Pack a picnic to enjoy with your family or perhaps you’d like to grab a sausage sizzle and drink from Rotary.
Floating Lantern Workshop, Kiama Library, April 21
Kids from six to 16 will enjoy making floating paper lanterns, inspired by the annual Loi Krathon festival in Thailand.
The lanterns will be floated on Kiama Harbour during the KISS Arts Festival. Visit the library to book.
Family friendly exhibitions Frugal Forest and Into the Wild will be the focus of fun entertainment.
From 12:30pm to 3:30pm there’ll be jungle face painting, balloon art, live music, cupcake corner, sausage sizzle, paper vine and leaf craft, monkey business workshop, treasure hunt, tropical birds workshop and story time.

T.Rex at Stockland Shellharbour
The Australian Museum has brought its ultra-realistic 11-metre long Ttyrannosaurus rex model to Shellharbour until April 25.
You can find the giant beast on the plaza level outside JB Hi-Fi.
Fun at the Library
Libraries across the Illawarra are hosting free and low-cost activities from movie screenings, craft and coding workshops, live performances, gaming and discos.

One Day Sports Camp, Berry, April 20
Children aged seven to 12 will have a jam-packed day of activities at the Berry Sport and Recreation Centre.
Although this isn’t free, we thought $58 wasn’t too bad for the activities involved.
Kids will be challenged with a ropes course and climbing wall, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, tennis, basketball, archery, bike-riding, flying fox and a cookout.

Various children’s entertainers under the glamorous big top pegged down next to the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre.
