The Easter weekend showcased many great events with the number of locals and tourists attending these very pleasing. From the always enjoyable Lake Light Sculpture in Jindabyne to the Easter fairs of Berridale and Adaminaby there was plenty for people to do.
One of the great annual events is the Delegate Duck Race which attracted a large turnout. Money raised from all these events go back into their communities, so it’s important that we get out and support our local events when we can.
Snowy Monaro Regional Council was once again proud to partner with the Lake Light Sculpture. Lake Light showcases a wide range of interesting sculptures, many designed by talented artists in our region. The sculptures looked a treat when they were lit up at night. Well done to all involved.
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Member for Monaro Service Awards that recognised outstanding locals in our community. These worthy recipients reflect the heavy involvement our community groups have in day to day life. All recipients deserve a pat on the back for their tireless contributions.
ANZAC Day is almost upon us and right across the region there are dawn and morning services planned for the towns within the Snowy Monaro region and I’m sure there’ll be large crowds on hand to recognise the local men and woman that served our nation.
