A SHOALHAVEN Heads man found with property stolen from local mailboxes and items bought during shopping sprees with stolen credit cards has been jailed.

Bradley John Scott, 36, was sentenced to two years’ jail from August 3 last year in Nowra Local Court by Magistrate Gabriel Fleming on Wednesday.
Scott was given a non-parole period of nine months. He will be eligible for release on May 2.
Scott pleaded guilty to 21 counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception, hindering police and having goods in goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
Local police had been investigating the alleged mail theft and the fraudulent use of credit cards from Berry, Kangaroo Valley and Shoalhaven Heads during February and March last year.
The court heard Scott and co-accused, Kylie Louise Strickland, 33, of Nowra, were stopped by police in an unregistered vehicle on Moss Vale Road, Cambewarra between 4.25am and 4.50am on March 4.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a number of stolen credit cards, driver’s licences and other personal cards.
Police said Scott was in possession of a National Diabetes card, a man’s driver’s licence and a woman’s Qantas frequent flyer card.
Court documents stated between February 21 and February 25, Scott used a stolen Commonwealth Bank Mastercard at businesses including Kmart Nowra, the Telstra Shop Nowra, CTC Stockland Nowra, Terry White Chemist Nowra, Ed Harry Menswear, Bunnings South Nowra, Dick Smith Electrical in Shellharbour, Priceline Shellharbour, Surf Dive n Ski Shellharbour, Zink Surf Kiama,The Reject Shop, Woolworths Nowra, the North Nowra Tavern, Kangaroo Valley Service Station, Great Southern Hotel Berry and the Berry Bottle Shop.
He bought a variety of items including mobile phones, protective cases, chargers and docks, men’s clothing, sportswear, shoes, a watch, perfume, a lighter, cigarettes and alcohol.
A smoke alarm, pad painters, stainless steel lights, aluminium and plastic torches, bolt cutters, a gas torch kit, roller boxes, tissues and food, including softdrinks, breakfast drinks, ice creams and other groceries were also on his shopping list.
Police also charged him with being in possession of a Bestway blowup backyard pool, pump and piping.
Scott also pleaded guilty to allowing a person to use an unregistered motor vehicle and was fined $106; hindering police, goods in custody, possessing a prescribed restricted substance, Endep 25 (amitriptyline), and was fined $300.
He also pleaded guilty and was convicted of possessing a prohibited drug, .27 grams of methamphetamine and .89g of cannabis, but no penalty was recorded.
Strickland was jailed for nine months with a non-parole period of two months last July on charges of gaining financial advantage by deception and having goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
