Last week I joined Snowy Monaro Regional Council staff and L'Etape organisers for a briefing on how the event is expected to shape up this year. Lateral Events is organising the race and they are keen to continue their close working relationship with council to deliver another world class event.

With planning well underway for the L'Etape race in early December, organisers for Lateral Events presented council with three Tour de France jerseys. The jerseys are a recognition of the region's support for the cycling extravaganza with the yellow jersey signed by Tour de France champion Chris Froome. Council was also presented with the Green and Polka Dot jerseys representing the winners of the Sprint and Mountain stages.
Council is set to host a series of community workshops (Visioning Forums) in the coming weeks as we undertake important community consultation to form our Community Strategic Plan. The CSP is a 20-year strategic document that helps Council form its future delivery programs based on the needs and aspirations of the the Snowy Monaro community. This is your chance to have you say on the future of the region.
There's plenty of work going on around Jindabyne and the region, and locals would've noticed work continuing on Snowy River Avenue and the median strip on Kosciuszko Road between the Town Centre and Jindabyne Bowling Club.
