This year Mr Miller and the group of young musicians will be holding the concert in the Bombala High School Hall on Thursday, June 29 at 7.30 pm
David Miller has been bringing the Conquest tour to the South East for 16 years now.
The Conquest tour is very popular and eagerly anticipated as a wonderful way for the isolated community to experience musical excellence.
This year Mr Miller will be bringing along with him soprano Jane Anderson; Xiao Han playing alto saxophone; George Wills playing classical guitar; Chung Him Chu playing soprano saxophone; Jasmine-Jade Mills playing tenor saxophone and Travers Keirle playing baritone saxophone.
David Miller is widely recognised as one of Australia’s leading pianists, chamber musicians and vocal accompanists. He was appointed as a member of the Order of Australia for his service to music and his distinguished career has included partnerships with many internationally renowned singers and instrumentalists. He has performed all over the world.
Accompanying Mr Miller is soprano Jane Anderson who was born in Darwin to a musical family and grew up playing piano and viola.
Xiao Han is an emerging concert saxophonist who is studying music performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He has played all over the world and participated in many important world wide performances.
Classical guitarist, George Wills holds a Bachelor of Music degree with first class honours and in 2016 George was awarded first prize in the New Zealand classical guitar competition.
Hong Kong born Chung Him Chu plays soprano saxophone and is currently studying classical saxophone at the Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney. Chu has performed actively in Sydney and Hong Kong as a soloist and as a member of different music ensembles.
Jasmine-Jade Mills is a classical saxophonist currently studying a diploma of music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Jasmine-Jade has also worked as a conductor for the Australian Institute of Music Symphony Orchestra.
