Sometimes the photos are provided by the Bombala and District Historical Society and other times the photo has been supplied by a Bombala Times reader.
If you have an old photo from years gone by that you would like to see published in the paper and you have no way of getting a copy of it to the Bombala Times, pop into the Bombala Newsagency and see Dave Goodyer who will be able to help you.
This week’s Golden Oldie is of Bombala Public School taken in 1949 of kindergarten and 1st class taken outside the Bombala Anglican Church. Do you recognise anyone? Some of the faces were in last weeks Golden Oldie – the names are below.
It took a bit, but we have managed to find out all the names (we hope) with help from Sybil (Ralphs) Dent, Brian Beileiter, Athol Dent and with an email from Keith Murdoch on Monday with the name of the last unknown person who was Dirk Van De Wall.
The names in last week’s Golden Oldie of the 1954 Bombala Public School 5th and 6th class were: teacher Ken Jones.
The students in the back row: Henry (Denny) Hocking, Gary Fraser, John Ingram, John Louttit; Gary Elton, Ted Thompson and John Odd.
Third row: Lois Elton, Robyn Ingram, Lois Sullivan, Peter Ingram, Garry Jones, Neil McCaskil, Kelvin Perkins, Margaret Brotherton, Beverly Ingram and Janice Ingram.
Second Row: Alan Bruce, Brian (Joe) Helmers, Brian Beileiter, Dirk Van de Wall, Michael Hawkins, Athol Dent, Brian Hawkins, Keith Murdoch and Brian Ralphs.
Front row: Judy Clements, Sybil Ralphs, Heather Campbell, Tess Tindale, June Campbell, Pam Johnson and Helen Smith.
