Farmers meet in Sydney

More than 200 farmers from across New South Wales will be attending this year’s NSW Farmers’ Association Annual Conference at the Marriott Hotel, Circular Quay.

Key note speakers include Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce, NSW Minister for Primary Industries Niall Blair, Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Matt Kean, National Farmers’ Federation President Fiona Simson and NSW Farmers’ Association President Derek Schoen.

The conference is at the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel, 30 Pitt Street, Sydney and starts on Tuesday, July 18 running though to Thursday, July 20.

This year three panel sessions will also be held:

  • Telecommunications panel session - Rural Connectivity out in the Paddock;  Chair- Johanna Plante, ACCAN - Tuesday, July 18 at 3.25pm.  Speakers: Dan Lloyd- Vodafone, Tim O’Leary- Telstra and Tony Bundrock- Activ8me.
  • Political panel session: The future of Regional NSW and our Agricultural Industry; Chair- Sean Nicholls, Sydney Morning Herald - Wednesday, July 19 at 1pm. Speakers: The Hon. Niall Blair, MLC, Mr Ryan Park, MP, Mr Justin Field, MLC, The Hon. Robert Brown, MLC, The Hon. Paul Green, MLC.
  • Water panel session - What’s next for the Murray Darling Basin Plan: Chair- Scott Hansen, Director General, NSW DPI- Thursday, July 20 at 10.25am. Speakers: Gavin Hanlon- NSW DPI, Phillip Glyde- MDBA, Steve Whan- NSW Irrigators’ Council, Perin Davey- PD Strategy, Tony Quigley- Quigley Farms.
