Dance stars!

PROVING a colourful feast of entertainment, the Monaro Dance Centre annual concert was held at the Bombala High School hall on Sunday.

An audience of 160 people came along to show their support and watch local students from Bombala, Delegate and surrounding areas perform “Broadway”.

The dancers impressed the audience with famous and well loved Broadway classics such as ‘Mary Poppins’ performed by Junior Ballet, ‘Oliver’ performed by Boys Hip-Hop and ‘The Wizard of Oz’ by our Pre-school dance students.

The Monaro Dance Centre Bombala Co-ordinator, Chloe Crawford said that she was very proud of all the students for their commitment to the production.

“The dedication from all students was clearly shown through their amazing performance on Sunday afternoon,” she said.

“The students have been working on these routines for a number of months and all their hard work paid off.”

The following students were presented with awards for encouragement, achievement and performance - Maxwell Smith, Austin Fisk, Lucy Merritt, Sophie Rumph, Matilda Yelds, Kate Yelds, Jessica Vincent, Nikki Hepburn and Hannah Feilen.

The Samantha Barker Encouragement Award went to Veronika Hartmeier, the Stephanie Blumer Scholarship to Tori Wilson, and the Shelley Braden Excellence in Performance Award to Tanika Hampshire.

A big thankyou to Schoo’s Studio, Bombala High School and all the parents and students involved.

The photos will be available for viewing this week during classes and a DVD will also be available to purchase.
