Each week the Bombala Times publishes a photo from years gone by and asks readers if they may have any information about the photo. This week’s Golden Oldie was provided by the Bombala & District Historical Society who have little information about the photo. The society is looking for more information about the photo.

What we do know about this week’s Golden Oldie is that it is of horsemen at Gunningrah Station. The photo was possibly taken sometime in the ‘40’s, ‘50’s or 60’s. We know that Joe Elton who played footy in the ‘40’s is one of the men pictured. If you have any information please let us know.
Last weeks golden oldie was from Helen Hines. It is of Eric Tinadale and Helen’s son Peter Hines, who was 4 years old. The photo was taken about 1967 when Eric Tindale worked for Roy Howard & Co. who were an electrical retailer in Bombala.
Roy Howard & Co. were doing a lucky hat promotion, and Peter happened to have the lucky number on his hat, so he was the winner of a transistor radio, that was the start of him living in a hat.
