Touch footy
Last Friday the Bombala Public School boys touch team played their first game against Queanbeyan South. The boys played a great first half, keeping the scores level, but unfortunately went down in the second half to finish the game 6-4. All the boys played well and displayed fantastic sportsmanship.

Golf
Again there is little to report for the Bombala golf ladies. It was damp when it was time to hit off and the ladies took the opportunity to prepare for their busy week cooking for the Street Stall and catering for a function on Saturday. It has been a busy couple of weeks.
Members on Saturday played a Stableford for Club Trophy. Ind Acc. The scores were not brilliant but with the wind that would be understandable. The winner was Pepper Thompson on 34pts from Brendan Weston and Merv Douch 33 pts. These chaps were the ball winners.
Sunday was the second Round of the 4 BBB Championships. It would have been interesting day with the wind blowing a gale and turning extremely cold on the second nine. The leaders, Brad and Tosh couldn’t handle the conditions and fell well behind. The Scratch Champions who were five shots back after the first round were Wayne Elton and Brendan Weston 152 from Merv Douch and Pepper Thompson 158.
The Handicap Champions the team of Merv Douch and Pepper Thompson maintained their lead and their golf having the same score as last week finish resulting in 126 nett from Brad Yelds and Phillip McIntosh 132.5 nett. Ball winners for the round was Wayne and Brendan with 61 nett. NTP was won by Merv Douch.
Sorry to hear that Westy’s mum came off a ladder on Friday and broke her hip. She was operated on over the weekend in Bega. We all send our best wishes and in future stay off the ladder although the story is you won’t find it now.
