Seven students from primary schools around the district participated in the Primary Principals Public Speaking evening at the Bombala High School canteen on Thursday evening.

Each year the Rotary Club of Bombala hosts the public speaking competition that local schools are invited to nominate speakers to take part in the event.
According to organisers students presented speeches on a range of different topics.
The winner this year was Max Chaplin from St. Joseph’s who spoke about his family holiday to the Northern Territory. Other topics included family members, clay target shooting to fishing and living locally.
The encouragement award was presented to Shianne Towan of Bombala Public School who spoke on the life of her grandfather Barry Hampshire.
