Fifteen players attended the Skills Day where professional coaches ran through a variety of different drills and games all the while assessing the players abilities.
The players were Jack Milliner, Taya Douch, Paige Hurley, Bridie Hampshire, Heidi Brownlie, Jake Brown, Xander Paynter, River Guthrie, Finn Sullivan, Tully McGuiness, Ashley Loydd, Tanner Hurley, Meila Elton and Montana Chamberlain.
Basketball coach Katie Peisley said the group ran through running drills, ball handling skills, shooting skills and games skills which each and every player participated, enjoyed and benefited from.
“From this day, the coaches were to select a number of players to go further on and participate in the NSW Country Jamboree 2017,” Ms Peisley said.
The NSW Country Jamboree is a full-on three day clinic held in Tamworth that focuses on the children’s basketball skills.
Four Bombala local were selected from the skills day to attend.
“Congratulations to Jack Milliner, Finn Sullivan, Bridie Hampshire and Montana Chamberlain,” coach Peisley said.
“We hope you choose to participate in this clinic and wish you luck.
“We would like to thank Merimbula Basketball for allowing us to participate in their skills day as well as a big thank you to Geoff, Kylie and Lochie for running the clinic.
“It was an amazing day and we hope to be part of it in the years to come.”
