Council will contribute $3.5 million towards this important project with the other $3.5 million coming courtesy of the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund.
Snowy Monaro Regional Council administrator, Dean Lynch, said Council’s hard work has resulted in the successful bid to receive grant funding for the upgrade and augmentation of the Bombala Sewage Treatment Plant.
“This is a massive spend in Bombala. It’s the largest funding injection in many, many years for the town and it’s been made possible under this Council,” Administrator Lynch said.
“Upgrading the infrastructure of the treatment plant is an important project to deliver for Bombala locals and I’m very pleased this council has been able to secure money for it.
“We were able to use the expertise of our staff to cost out the works needed. This is a great outcome for Bombala.”
The scope of the infrastructure upgrades will take in storm flow treatments, electrical switch room and mechanical works (including pipes, pumps and valves).
