Bridge work began on the walkway bridges that crossed the river and then it all stopped.
A number of inquiries made by the Bombala Times as to why the worked stopped and when it will resume have so far gone unanswered.
A post on the Bombala Buy Swap and Sell Facebook page drew our attention to the fact work had stopped on the pedestrian bridges.
Parents of triplets, Scott and Karen Guthrie said, “There is nowhere safe to take the kids, and the project has been sitting like this for months.”
“We were promised that the job would be finished by the end of August and it has just been sitting there with nobody working on it for months.
”It looks awful and the view that visitors get from the caravan park isn’t very good.
“Before we could walk the whole walkway but here is no way that we can do that now because there are places that you just can’t get across the river at all.

“We were told that there was a hold up with the people that were making the stainless steel rails, but that was months ago.
“Why would council start a job like that if they didn’t have all the material to complete the job in the first place?” Ms Guthrie said.
Some of the other comments made on the Facebook post included, “It was very frustrating Karen, I went for a walk with my granddaughter today and could only go half way.”
Another comment said, “It’s actually a joke! Maybe if the council were to use local contractors the job would have been done a long time before this.”
And another, “To add to all of the above you start another project. A platypus viewing seating big enough to seat a bus load of people. On the unsafe walking track yesterday I saw at least three platypus. They could at least finish the bridges before someone is hurt or worse.”
