Wind turbines roll through Bombala

The first components for the controversial Boco Rock wind farm project made their way through Maybe Street, Bombala, on Monday at 10am.

The truck departed the port of Eden at 7am, carrying the lower tower section of one of the turbines, measuring approximately 29 metres in length and weighing a hefty 52 tonnes.

Transport is expected to continue throughout the week until Saturday.

CWP Renewables Pty Ltd Senior Development Officer Siobhan Isherwood said they anticipated three truck loads a day to make their way to the Nimmitabel wind farm site.
