More than 100 people attended the event with family fun for all.
All ducks were pre-sold and a record number of boats took part in the kids’ boat race.
The children had fantastic fun with the Easter egg hunt.
Children’s and family races added to the occasion.
The children made their own mini pizza to cook in the cob oven – they must have been delicious because there was not much left over.
The kids’ boat race was also fantastic.
A record number of 19 boats floated down the river.
First boat over the line belonged to Gabby Kidd, followed by Will Tibbutt and Aspen Cameron third.
All the boats were different, most used recycled products, some were small in stature and some quite adventurous.
The duck race began without a hitch, with the river flowing well after the recent rain.
The first duck over the line was number 8, belonging to Tyler Jones of Bombala.
The second duck belonged to Gabby and Cooper Kidd, and Chaz Campbell came in third.
Next year’s race will be even bigger with another 50 ducks to be entered into the race.
They will all be $10 again as this year was such a success.
The prize money will also be back up to more than $400.
Platypus Pals would like to thank those that supported the day, either by attending, buying a duck or two or helping out on the day.
This includes Peter Rosenkrantz and Dennis Reed for going in the river for the boats and ducks.
Thanks also to Karen Cash, Alma Reed and Doreen Standen for their help with the mini pizza cooking.
Other supporters include Lou Lou’s, Delegate Cafe, Doreen Standen for plants, Lavender House and The Pages of Life Bookshop for prizes.
Thank you all for making this event such a successful day.
