Council general manager Ngaire McCrindle said expressions of interest were called for last year, with a one-year contract being offered.
This year’s proposed agreement differs in that it includes an option to extend for a second year, Ms McCrindle said.
The agreement also covers the minimum hours of operation, responsibilities including water quality, pool grounds maintenance and operation of the kiosk.
Ms McCrindle said the call for expressions of interest for 2014-2015 had only recently been advertised and she was not aware of any applications being received at this stage.
“We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it,” Ms McCrindle said when asked what would happen if no applications were received by the due date.
The 2014-2015 season starts around November 20 and runs until March.
The expression of interest calls for the person or organisation to be “suitable qualified”.
The necessary qualifications are contained in specification documents available from the council.
Applications will be accepted until 4pm on Friday, September 12, and will then go to council for consideration.
