Bombala Show Society secretary Kim Oliver said that the Show Society was always looking for new things to bring along to the show and were always open to new ideas to make the show for appealing to exhibitors.
For the first time ever this year organisers have the Feathered Friends Bird Show coming to Bombala.
The two performance show is a dream-like sequence about the birds the Feathered Friends team spend their lives with.
“Another great addition to the show this year is the All Day Ride Pass that will enable children and adults to ride as many times as they like on any of the rides, except the Cha Cha,” Ms Oliver said. “The pass will also allow the participant in any of the special activities throughout the day.
“This year the exhibition society and the exhibitions grounds management committee have worked hard, along with local contractor Russell Carey to get the new cattle/multipurpose pavilion up and ready for show day.
“This year we are judging on farm as we realise that it is often difficult for producers to get a small amount of stock into town to the one location on a specific day.
“The response has been great and it is all due to our cattle stewards Charlie Maslin and Ian Haslingden putting in a lot of hard work to get it back up and running,” she said.
“Other activities include Graham Rumph memorial quick shear, horse events, show jumping, dog trials and dog high jumps.
“There is also an eight event woodchop competition with axemen from the US, Victoria and NSW competing and using this as a warm up event leading into the Sydney Royal.
“We also have the return of the bucking bull this year and the Boco Rock Wind Farm Kidz Zone will be open with the Old Kentucky Animal Farm petting enclosure and Zamboni the Magician.
Gates at the Bombala Showground open at 8am.
