One game of social bowls was played with M Guthrie and Chris X defeating Coopy Baker and K. Callaway 21 to 18.
On Sunday, August 13 the next round of the club triples sponsored by Champions Shoes was completed. C Ingram, R Fermor and C Elton 22 defeated C Baker, K Elliott and A Dent 14. N Batey, B Douch and K Richardson 24 defeated B Crouch, P Lomas and J Lomas 22. “Arfup”
Golf
Bombala lady golfers played a Stroke for L Johnson Trophy on Wednesday. The winner was Joy Douch 77 nett. Ball winner was Gay Kennedy 82 nett.
On Saturday the Bombala men played a 4 BBB v Par for Philip Ingram and K Farrow trophies. The winners were Clay Stewart and Joel Cherry + 9. Balls went to Clay and Joel, Brendan Weston and Ross Brown + 3. NTP by Clay Stewart.On Sunday there were no players with everyone travelling down to support the Bombala Football teams in the grand finals.
Golf program
Ladies: On Wednesday, August 23 there is a 4 BBB Championship. 1st 18 Holes with a 10am hit off. Saturday is Choice 9 – Club Trophy.
Members: Saturday, August 26 Stroke for Monthly Medal and on Sunday, Heavy Haulage, Tathra. Duty roster: Saturday - Simon Stephen.
Netball
Sapphire Rep trials are on again. Bombala District Netball is looking for any interested players from the age of 10 through to opens that would like to trial.
Contact Calli Kidman to get a trial form. All forms need to be lodged before the end of August.
Rugby league
Bombala Blue Heelers are holding their annual presentation night on Saturday, August 26.
Tickets are only available at Bombala Garden Jewels until Wednesday, as numbers for catering need to be finalised. Don't miss out, there will be no tickets available at the door. Price includes a meal and entertainment.
Open invitation to all players and supporters. To be held at the Bomabal RSL, 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
Regional fund
The NSW Government has announced a major funding boost for new and existing sports facilities in regional NSW as part of the $100million Regional Sports Infrastructure Fund.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said the fund, now open for applications, would go towards improving the quality and quantity of sports venues in regional areas.
