The Dalgety Show Society is proud to again to host the Dalgety Team Penning, a popular event in its eighth year with 31 teams competing on Saturday.
Entries to compete in the team penning are now closed but organisers are inviting spectators to enjoy a fun day at Dalgety Showground.
Showground entry is free and barbecue lunch will be available on Saturday and Sunday.
Competitors should be at the showground by 7.30am to complete their registrations, with the main event kicking off at 8.30am.
As an added bonus, competitors and spectators alike will be lucky enough to see Luke McDonald present a farrier and shoe making demonstration.
Sunday is set to be another fun filled day for families and their horses with the gymkhana-style event Saddle Up Sunday also at the Dalgety Showground.
If you are interested in participating in events such as flag races, barrel races, bending and lots of others, while catering for all riding abilities, then this day is for you.
Entries will open on the morning of the competition from 8am with the fun beginning at 9am.
Unfortunately due to damage sustained to the Sheep Shed at the Dalgety Showground last month, the annual Hazeldean Snowy River Shears event has been cancelled this year.
Organisers are looking forward to hosting the event next year on September 23, 2018.

There is more Team Penning action happening in Delegate on the weekend of October 7 and 8 and the Cathcart Team Penning is on October 28 and 29.
