St Joseph’s Primary School student Max Chaplin was selected for the Canberra Goulburn Archdiocesan Athletics Team that competed in the Mackillop Athletics Carnival in Sydney on Monday. Max was in the long jump event but didn’t place for the State Titles in October.

There were 14 competitors in Max’s event with Max falling short of his qualifying jump of 4.07cm. The winning jump was 4.64m. Max was also a flag bearer for Canberra-Goulburn Archdiocese in the opening ceremony.
Golf
The Bombala lady golfers played the final round of the 4 BBB Championships on Wednesday. The results were close with congratulations going to the champions Joy Douch and Jean McLean 184 from Georgina Withers and Di Ingram 185. Well done ladies. The Handicap champions were Gay Kennedy and Heather Brown 122.5 nett with daylight second. Georgina and Di finishing on 136 nett. Congratulations to these champions you all played well. Ball Winners on the day were Di and Georgina 66.5 nett and Eva L’Estrange and Dawn Douch 71.5 nett.
On Saturday the ACT Monaro Sand Green Championships that were due to be played on Saturday but were called at 8am due to rain and snow. The local lads played a Stableford for a Club Trophy. The winner with 38 pts was Brendan Weston. Ball winners were Westy and Ray Crawford 37 pts. NTP Won by Westy. Sunday was a 4 BBB Stableford for the Late J. Haslingden & Paul Halligan Trophies. The winners were Ray Fermor and Ray Crawford 48 pts. Balls went to the two Rays, Joel Cherry and Korie Elton on a c/b from Brendan Weston and Ray Crawford 46 pts. NTP on the 17th won by Pepper Thompson.

Pony Club
On Sunday, Delegate Pony Club had 11 riders compete in Cooma Pony Club Gymkhana. Delegate Pony Club riders who received some awards were: Myah Voveris came home with Aged Champion for assisted; Aspen Cameron won Aged Champion for U7s, Lydia Jamieson won Reserved Aged Champion for 7-U 9's, Shania Caldwell, Jay Voveris and Natalie Vincent came home with encouragement for 11 -U13's. The next rally is on the second Sunday on October 8 at 9.30am gear check with a 10am start.
