AFL Gala Day
Bombala Public School from Years K-5 had the opportunity to participate in an AFL Gala Day coordinated by AFL NSW/ACT last Thursday. During the day the students moved through a series of fun skill stations which included hand/eye/foot, throwing/catching, balance and awareness games. Unfortunately, bad weather cut the day short. The school said they would like to thank AFL NSW/ACT and the PASS students from Bombala High School who assisted on the day.

Bombala Golf
The Bombala women golfers played a Stableford for a Club Trophy on Wednesday with Di Ingram winning on 33 points. Balls were won by Heather Brown 31 pts, Betty Crawford 29 pts, Gay Kennedy 27 pts.
Bombala members played a Par for Club Trophy on Saturday. Wayne Elton had a great round of +7 taking home a chicken for Christmas. Balls were won by Wayne and Pepper Thompson +2. NTP: 17th Pepper Thompson.
Ray Fermor who has the job of raking the greens has had his work cut out lately with heavy storms causing havoc to them. Saturday evening we had another big storm, water everywhere but lightning was frightening hitting a pole near the club.
The ladies were busy in the kitchen just about to serve up for a function. Panic stations, no lights, no stoves, no water and a club full of people waiting to eat. Sincere thanks to Essential Energy had the power back on quickly allowing the ladies to keep the guests happy.
Sunday golf was a Stableford for Club Trophy. With the greens a mess players hit off in perfect weather but after six holes headed for the club until another storm passed over.
Finally going out to complete their round they eventually came in with a winner. Pepper Thompson 34 pts from Wayne Elton 32 pts. Balls went to Pepper, Wayne and Phillip McIntosh on a c/b from Tony Brady 31 pts.

On Saturday the first round of the mixed handicap pairs got under way. Results: J. Cotterill and M Guthrie def C Kane and B Beileiter 21 to 15. A Dent and C Ingram def P Kane and J Lomas 38 to 13. D Dent and N Brotherton def B Crouch and K Callaway 21 to 18. The second round played on Sunday Results: A Dent and C Ingram def J Cotterill and M Guthrie 45 to 14. D Dent and N Brotherton def G Hurley and R Joseph 25 to 22. Final to be played by December 2.
