This means that from January 1, 2018 the waste disposal fees will be standardised across all of council’s waste facilities. Details of the applicable fees and charges can be obtained from council’s website and at any council office or waste facility. Disposal of domestic quantities of household recyclable materials remains free of charge.
Waste disposal data recording will continue at all council resource and waste facilities to ensure that council continues to meet its EPA reporting requirements. The start of these new arrangements will also see the alternative arrangements introduced for the bank of bins, situated at the front of the Delegate facility, to combat the illegal dumping of waste occurring at this location.
Recycling rates have increased substantially since the introduction of the new 360 litre kerbside recycling bins to residents of Bibbenluke, Bombala, Cathcart, and Delegate, and the community is to be commended for its increased participation in recycling activities.
Council staff are happy to provide advice to residents on how to maximise their recyclable materials and to reduce the amount of waste to landfill.
