The Monaro Country Lavender Co Op is the oldest lavender association in Australia, distilling essential oils since 2000.
President of the Co-Op and the group’s distiller, Rob Cash said the group has distilled a number of different herbs over the years but now concentrates on lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus.
“Recently we have established different wholesale markets for the oils including selling it to a soap maker based in Bungendore, a national company making furniture oils and the Russian Orthodox Monastery at Bungarby who supplies to monasteries in Eastern Europe,” he said.
