The page “We have a right to clean water” is encouraging residents to post their comments and photos of the tap water.
There are also comments on the Bombala Buy Swap and Sell Facebook page complaining about the water quality along with photos.
One post from Alison Gimbert proposes calling a town meeting “about our lovely clean water (ha ha)”.
Ms Gimbert says she will be inviting Snowy Monaro Regional Council, councillors and managers along with the mayor and Member for Monaro, John Barilaro.
She is also asking people to take photos of the “offending muck”, ring the council office with complaints and record the dates and times for records.
The Bombala Times Facebook page is also receiving posts about the water quality.
Many complaints and photos of brown water appeared on a story from the CSIRO this week about a new filtering technique for water that sounded like the answer to Bombala and Delegates water quality woes.
However, further investigation into the story revealed that the filter has “no timeline at the moment” and is a long way from a product prototype and further development.
A call to the NSW government department Office of Environment and Heritage about the quality of Bombala’s water was referred back to the Snowy Monaro Regional Council.
In the meantime complaints, comments and photos continue to be posted online with one person even suggesting the water be bottled and sold as platypus pee.
Jokes aside, Teresa Lavin-Cave suggested that “rather than individuals writing to council to complain about the water issue, we could perhaps have some petitions going around town”.
“More than happy to have a petition form at the Post Office if a majority of residents are interested.”
