The first step in the enormous project of getting Bombala’s water supply clear and clean took place last week when professional divers were called in to give the Bombala water supply a further clean out.

The divers vacuumed sludge residue from the bottom of the main holding tank at the Bombala Water Filtration Facility and removed almost 70 cubic metres of sludge.
This process has preceded the water mains flushing which is underway in Bombala this month.
One resident, Alison Gimbert said that vacuuming the town water supply hadn’t made a noticeable difference.
“The water lines in my street have yet to be air flushed, which I am expecting to happen in the next couple of days. Hopefully then it’ll be better.”
