Coach of the Bombala Blue Heelers under 16 ladies league tag team, Gaz Brownlie said the first carnival for the season has started strong for the under 16 league tag girls at Bibbenluke.
“After playing hard and winning their two games they then went on to win the final for the day.
“First game they played Moruya winning comfortably 26-0.
“Second game they came up against Merimbula/Pambula also winning convincingly 24-0.
“These two wins qualified them for the final against Bega and great defence once again won them the game 12-0.
“All the girls played well in their first hit out for the year and they are all pumped to start the season,” coach Brownlie said.
Coach of the Bombala Blue Heelers under 12 League Tag side – the Pink Pups, Tash Stewart said the Pink Pups had a great day out at the Bibbenluke Carnival winning both their matches and finishing third on the ladder.
“They took the field full of confidence after playing their very first season together last year.
“Their tagging was fantastic and they completed some great kicks which they also scored off.
“They are to be commended on their great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day.” coach Stewart said.
Coaches Taylor and Bree said the newest team to the Bombala Junior Blue Heelers was the Little Pups, Under 7 to 9 League Tag introduced eight very excited little girls for their first game of footy at the Bibbenluke Carnival.
“The girls played three games winning against Eden and Narooma and narrowly losing by one try to Bega.
“For their first games they were excellent at tagging, passing and running the ball.
“Both coaches and players are eager for the season to start,” coach said.
