Young Bega country singer-songwriter Felicity Dowd was among the first to register for the Narooma Regional Busking Festival on Saturday, May 26, having made her busking debut at the inaugural Narooma Festival last year.

“It was a big step last year but a good chance to get out there,” she said.
“I ended up having a lot of fun, met lots of people and had great feedback.
“I enjoyed it so much I’ve busked at several other festivals since then where I performed my own material, including at Tamworth.
“I am really looking forward to busking again at Narooma where it’s so good to walk around and listen to everyone.”
Narooma Busking Festival will fill the town with music from a range of talented performers and it is free and accessible for everyone in the community to enjoy.
It is part of the Australian National Busking Championships (ANBC).
Narooma Busking coordinator Sandra Doyle said last year’s was a huge success with 57 buskers performing at many busking hot spots around town.
“This year we’re expecting even more buskers to compete for over $9,000 in prize money from our wonderful sponsors, and we have many more busking hot spots around town,” she said.
Buskers need to register online by Saturday, May 12.
The ANBC is now a national event with Narooma hosting one of the regional competitions.
Winners from the regional events will be invited to compete in the National Grand Final in Cooma in November.
