Bombala NSW Fire & Rescue unit held its annual Open Day on Saturday with station commander Terry Lomas saying it was the largest turnout of families in years.

“The day included a pretend smoke room and thermal imaging camera, rescue-gear demonstrations, fire hose ‘have a go’, as well as a barbecue and giveaways,” he said.
Captain Lomas said retired deputy captain Neil Hennessy dropped in as well to provide support on the day.
“It was his last day and farewell to station 230 Bombala after 31 years with the station,” he said.
“Thanks goes to officer in charge on the day RFF Gordon Anderson, to RFF Ben Peadon along with Bombala’s new firefighters, RFF Kosta Dracopoulos and RFF Peter Heward.”
