A man died following a two-vehicle crash near Cooma on Tuesday.
Police said about 10.50am a 75-year-old man was driving on the Monaro Hwy, seven kilometres north of Cooma, when his vehicle collided with another vehicle heading in the opposite direction.
The man died at the scene and his female passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle will undergo mandatory testing.
Police from Monaro Police District are investigating the incident and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
According to the Transport Management Centre, one lane of the Monaro Hwy is now open after being closed in both directions due to the crash.
Motorists travelling through the area are advised to allow extra travel time and take care in the area.
Emergency services and traffic crews remain on site.
