“Conditions across the South East have been a concern for a while now,” South East Local Land Services Senior Agriculture adviser Matt Lieschke said.
“Producers across the region are facing some tough decisions, and at times like these it is really important that they have the information to make the right decisions for their enterprises.”
The information sessions will cover supplementary and full hand feeding strategies for winter as well as pasture and animal health considerations.
Information sessions will be held in Binalong on June 8, Yass on June 15, Delegate on June 21 and Braidwood on June 27.
These follow on from events already held in Goulburn, Moss Vale, Delegate, Primrose Valley, Peelwood, Narrawa, Bigga, Gunning, Frogmore, Candelo and Cooma.
“We’ve had a strong response to the events to date, people are obviously pretty keen to get some more information to help them out, but also to get together and have a chat,” Lieschke said.
Representatives from the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program and the Rural Resilience Program have been on hand at some of the sessions to have a chat with attendees and provide support as required.
