GOLDEN OLDIE: This week's Golden Oldie is of a Bombala Rugby League team taken many years ago. Do you recognise anyone?

Each week the Bombala Times publishes a photo from years gone that is provided to the paper by the Bombala & District Historical Society.

We ask our readers if they can recognise anyone in the photo or provide any information about the time or subject of the Golden Oldie.

Any information that is received goes towards updating the records of the historical society and is also published on Facebook and in the following edition of the Bombala Times.

The Golden Oldie is still proving to be popular after running for several years now.

This week’s photo is of an old Bombala Rugby League football team and we’re not sure of the date the photo was taken in.

If you can provide any information about the people in the photo or when and where the photo was taken, we would love to hear from you.

Please contact Bombala Times journalist, Jeanne Medlicott on 0439 534 666 or email jeanne.medlicott@fairfaxmedia.com.au

Alternatively you can pop in and give the information the Bombala Historical Society member, Dave Goodyer at the Bombala Newsagency and he will in turn use that information to update the historical society records.

Last week’s Golden Oldie of Bombala ladies dressed in football gear was apparently taken around 1956 or 1957.

The photo was of a dress-up for a Bombala Fancy Dress Ball.

The ladies are:  Rayma Toms, Colleen Strawn, Val McAlister (nee - Ingram), Lois Flannery (nee - Kimber), Loretta Nicholson (nee - Elton), Nancy Lane (nee - Ingram) and Dawn Kimber (nee - Grant).

The Bombala Times is always on the lookout for old photos and is inviting readers who may have a photo or two that they think will get the community talking.

If you do we would love to hear from you, or you can drop your photo in to Dave Goodyer at the Bombala Newsagency and he will forward it to the Bombala Times.

It’s not only old photos that the Bombala Times is looking for.

We would also like to receive any photos of community events, anniversary’s, birthday’s, weddings, new babies, pets or funny photos.

We are also always looking for new and beautiful scenic photos of Bombala and its surrounds that we can use on the Bombala Times Facebook page.

People love to see beautiful photos of where we live and we would be happy to accept submissions of photos and news through the new portal on the Bombala Times website, bombalatimes.com.au or through our FaceBook page.
