Basketball
The girls knockout basketball team headed to Merimbula for their first game in the competition on Friday. The girls started strong taking an early lead but some accurate shooting from Merimbula saw them take the lead early in the first half. Some great defence from Bombala kept them in the game with scores tied at half time.

In the second half Merimbula scored a few baskets in a row giving them a comfortable lead. Consistent defence and good attacking skills helped the Bombala girls close the gap, taking the lead with only a few minutes remaining.
Bombala were able to hold onto the lead giving them the win by 2 points. Throughout the game the girls displayed great team work. The next game is a home game against Bateman’s Bay. Ms Paine
Golf
Bombala women golfers played a Par for E. L’Estrange Trophy on Wednesday. The winner was Joy Douch with a – 1. Balls were won by Gay Kennedy – 4 and Jean McLean on a c/b from Heather Brown – 11.
Saturday was to be the Mixed Foursomes Championships with what they were forecasting for the weekend and so many players not available it was decided to postpone the championships until Sunday, August 12.
A small field braved the weather playing a Stableford for Club Trophy. Brad Yelds was the winner with 35 pts from Brendan Weston 34 pts. These chaps were the ball winners. NTP was won by Brendan Weston.
A couple of Match Plays were played. Brad Yelds defeated Brendan Weston 2 Up. Tony Brady defeated Colin Gronow 1 Up.
The members played a Stableford for Club Trophy on Sunday, With the weather threatening to rain or snow the boys played the quickest round completing 18 holes in 3 hours. Must have been a lot of putting the ball in their pockets. Wayne Elton came in the winner on 37 pts. Balls were won by Wayne, Simon Stephen on a c/b from Ray Fermor 33 pts. NTP was won by Wayne.

Netball
Congratulations to Bombala Public School Netball Team on their effort on Wednesday in the third round of the PSSA Knockout played in Bombala against Jerrabomberra. Although the girls didn’t win they fought to the last whistle against a taller, well-drilled outfit.
