It was a big day of footy in Bombala on Saturday with Bombala’s Juniors playing Tathra in arctic conditions. The weather however, didn’t deter the youngsters who also took part in the ‘Women in League’ and ‘Heritage Round’ later on that day.

The girls got off to a good start scoring early and as usual worked hard in defense. Their great team work bagged them a win 38-8.
Try scorers this week went to Paige, Bree, Karter, Zara, Felicity, Dakota and special mention to Rochelle also getting one in her first game for the Pink Heelers.
Girls have been training hard and this week all that hard work payed off. Well done girls!

Round 7 at home the 14 years boys were up against Tathra.
On the day the opposition were simply too good and went home with a win. Once again our boys didn’t step up with their defence and were tackling to high rather then going around the legs.
So at training this week will continue with defensive drills.

The Pink Pups played Tathra wearing new pink socks for the Women in League Round. Tanner and Lily worked hard in defence with Ella and Shania making some great runs.
The Tathra girls were very quick and hard to contain at times, but the Pink Pups never gave up despite being defeated 26-10. Tries were scored by Brylie Stewart and Mack Dunn with Kate Yelds kicking her first goal.
The Players Player went to Mack Dunn who worked tirelessly in defence and the Powerade Pink Pup went to Gracie Brownlie who played out of her skin in both attack and defence.
The girls had a photo afterwards with all the Bombala Ladies’ teams and formed a tunnel to cheer on the High Heelers. A great way to celebrate all our very talented Women in League.
Yeah the girls!

U9LT Coach’s report
This week the Lil Pups came up against a very handy Tathra team that showed great skills in both attack and defence. The girls came out keen in their new pink jerseys and demonstrated the skills we’ve been practicing at training by the end of the game the girls came away with a draw score being 6-6.
Later on the girls got a photo with all the women football teams. After the photo the girls were lucky enough to hold the hands of some of our High Heeler ladies and judging by the huge smiles on the girls faces the girls seemed pretty wrapped. A big day for women in footy.

U9s Coach’s report
This week we came up against an under manned Tathra side and we had to lend them a couple of players.
Our attacking skills are going great and we scored some good tries. We will need to focus more on our defence in training this week as it was very hit and miss. A special thanks to the kids who played for Tathra. It is never easy to play against your own team. Also thanks again rugged for your continued support.
