This week, I attended the Australian Local Government Association’s National General Assembly of Local Government in Canberra. The three-day assembly was a fantastic opportunity to discuss a range of issues pertinent to local councils. Hundreds of Mayors and Councillors from across the country gathered in the nation’s capital. The theme of this year’s event was – Australia’s Future, Make it Local.

As part of the rollout of the Stronger Communities Fund Major Projects, playgrounds are being built and/or upgraded right across the region.
Your feedback for this process is important. Community consultation is now open for the upgrade of a further two playgrounds, Dalgety and Rotary Oval (Cooma) playgrounds.
To have your say, visit our Your Say website where you can view the concept designs and provide your feedback. When constructing a playground it’s important to consult the best minds in the business. That is of course, children. Our project team will visit Dalgety, Cooma Public and St Patrick’s Parish Schools to ask students their thoughts on the playground designs.
If you’re a community group or individual seeking a Council donation/sponsorship between July-December 2018, remember your submission must be in by the close of June.
If you would like further information on the changes to the donation/sponsorship request process, then please call Council. Application forms are also available on Council’s website, and in hardcopy at all Council offices.
