The pair handed over the keys to their beloved, but beaten-up, farmhouse as the final couple to have their property renovated in the current season of Australia’s most-watched renovation show.
This week, their fellow contestants are putting their own touches on the home ahead of Sunday’s judging and Monday night’s episode which will show Toad and Mandy seeing the full result for the first time.

We caught up with the couple as the episodes were going to air on Prime7.
How did you feel about handing over keys to the family home?
Toad: I feel very privileged we get a chance to restore this house to keep the heritage on the farm. We know it will only be a positive change so we’re not worried it will be ruined or changed too bad. Only good can come of this.
I’m keen and excited for this.
Mandy: Very nervous and still overwhelmed and cannot believe the teams of House Rules are at our place ready to renovate it.
Given the other renovations so far, how do you feel about what's in store for your own property?
Toad: I think a lot of work is in store for our old house. It’s big and old and that means a lot more work. I know I’m glad we missed this reno because it’s ours.
Mandy: After completing all the other houses so far I feel that our house is definitely the oldest and most run down therefore we will probably get the biggest transformation. Which is very exciting
What's been the most exciting part of your involvement in House Rules so far?
Toad: Meeting all the other teams and crew. It’s good to have a good yarn to people and learn a few things. We’ve also learnt a lot about design and building so that’s exciting.
Mandy: The most exciting part of this experience so far is travelling Australia and just seeing new things. Another exciting feeling is definitely finishing each renovation. It’s such an accomplishment to see the end of the week out and a fully renovated and styled house.
The biggest challenge?
Toad: Biggest challenge has to be leaving the kids and also the farm. It’s not the same running a farm from the phone and not being there to help out. I knew we could do the building, it was just the designing and creating that we had to work out. But we’ve got that sorted now.
Mandy: The biggest challenge for me is testing my skills and ideas to see if we had it in us to pull off a room. Obviously being away from the kids is something we will always think about too which makes a work day hard to focus. But we know they’re in great hands with their grandparents and family.
House Rules season six screens on Prime7, Tuesday and Wednesday 7.30pm, Sunday 7pm, and Monday 7.30pm.
