Councillors voted in favour of the officer’s recommendation that the subdivision be refused as the applicant did not ‘adequately mitigate, avoid or offset its negative impacts on the threatened species habitat’.

Council also resolved to fly the Aboriginal Flag ‘wherever and whenever it flies the Australian flag on Council buildings and facilities’. It is pleasing to see this receive the support of councillors, and quite fitting being NAIDOC Week.

This online engagement platform is giving residents the opportunity to provide feedback on draft concept designs for streetscape enhancements across the region.

Streetscape upgrades are taking place through the Stronger Communities Fund Major Projects Program. Ten towns will receive streetscape projects.

Currently, nine of these towns have their draft concept designs out for public comment. Head along to the Your Say website and provide your feedback by Wednesday, July 25.

Submissions are now open for the Boco Rock Community Enhancement Fund.

Expenditure by the Committee is specifically restricted to the former Cooma-Monaro and Bombala Local Government Areas as a condition of the development approval.

Application forms can be found at Council offices in Cooma and Bombala, and on Council’s website. Submissions close Friday, August 24.

Last Thursday, staff from our Biosecurity Service Delivery area, with assistance from Resource and Waste Services and Ranger Services, facilitated the Rural Living Information Session.

The event was held in Jindabyne, and has received plenty of positive feedback.
